De Titanic was, ook voor hij ten onder ging een hype, zoiets als de iPad 4. Het superschip - kosten in geld van nu 400 miljoen - ging het helemaal maken. En dat was te zien aan de advertenties:

the steam liner was so luxurious that various brands advertised in conjunction with the ship 440x376

the ship cost 75 million to make which translates to approximately 400 million today
